Mostly Finished A Room, & Some Plushes Started


Hey everyone! This is gonna be a lot smaller of a devlog because I feel like I’ve been overworking myself a bit, so I spent a lot of the last few days resting. I’m probably gonna take it easy for a bit before I continue to plug away. I did get some stuff done that hopefully tides y’all over til then.

Onto what I’ve done! The biggest thing I got figured out was the opening sequence. I’m not gonna post the video of the opening cinematic cause I want it to be a surprise, but I’m excited to finish it. Here’s a screenshot of the cinematic as a teaser. I’m making it in Ren’Py.

After this I made what I think is one of the first maps that I can confidently say is almost done. It happens right after the cinematic, and I think it’s a good showcase of the sort of vibe I’m going for with this game. I tried uploading the mp4 of the recording but it didn’t wanna work, so I guess you’ll have to wait to hear it with sound lol. It’s 100x better with the audio.

Then a shot by itself I love the vibes I’m starting to go for with the game. I wanna make it feel uncomfortable, but not dangerous. Nothing’s gonna jump out and attack you or anything, but there will be a feeling of unease because the game takes place in Sasha’s head.

Other things I did outside of this were working on plushies for Sasha’s room, then starting to work on a Velma poster for the wall. I think I needed a break from all the stuff I was doing before, so this was a nice way to go about it.

This model I’d been working on modelling on and off. It’s been taking longer to do because it’s a more humanoid model, but something I thought would be fun would be making the Cirno fumo into a #D model instead of just a sprite. It’s not done yet, but I love how it’s turning out so far.

After I posted the Cirno fumo in my Discord server, someone suggested that I do the IKEA shark, so I decided to spend an hour or so making a rough draft of it. Sasha isn’t trans, but she had trans friends in high school and thought the shark was cute.

The last thing I wanted to do was start working on the Velma poster for the wall. As you progressed through the game, I wanted more waifu pictures to start popping up on the wall. I need to spend some time either fixing this up or trying for a closer shot, cause she looks a bit too much like Neco Arc here lmfao.

The next few days I’m gonna still work on stuff, but I’m gonna try going a bit easier on myself so I don’t burn out hard again. Hopefully I can get the revamped demo out in a couple of weeks.
